Car to Caravan Weight Ratio is of vital importance for safe towing, the recommended amount is not to exceed an 85% caravan to car weight ratio. In other words your caravan when fullu loaded should not exceed 85% of your cars kerb-weight (or max tow weight if this is lower). Experienced caravanners who have been towing competently for many years may wish to opt for a 100% weight ratio, however we do not recommend this weight ratio. Police can stop you and if you are found to have a caravan in tow that exceeds the kerb- weight of your car you could be liable for prosecution.
